Five Minute Friday - Focus

Five Minute Fridays are about the only posts I am managing right now.  My focus is elsewhere.

Focus...

Miles of water and land separate father and son.  Yet, they do not lose focus.  Dad calls on Skype before bedtime.  Jacob pushes off naptime, tosses duplos aside and runs to the computer; focused on "dada."  He blows daddy kisses, plays peekaboo and says "dada" over and over.  Bittersweet moments; focused on one another.

Smiling

Laughing

Playing

Touching...Jacob touches his dad's face.  He seems to think he can crawl right into the screen and transport himself from mom's lap in South Carolina to dad's in Afghanistan. He cannot, so he continues to touch his father's face and kiss the monitor.

Love

Communication

Focus

Keeps us going.

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..

  1. So thankful to have linked up behind you for FMF.

I know this bitter sweet focus and I am sending you and your sweet one hugs. I'm a Navy wife, and I know this ache. It's nice to "meet" you today.
