Snowman Tablerunner & Crochet Scarf

Here is my 2010 Christmas Tablerunner.  I wanted a snowman runner and used some applique from the "Snowbound" blocks from Bunny Hill Designs.  I added an applique snowflake to the center and this is where my snowflake candle holder will sit.  I finished it today, so thought I'd share.  I did submit it to Quilting Gallery for their weekly contest.  Voting will be Friday through Sunday, if you'd like to vote for me.  I'll post a reminder and link to the voting on Friday, when they have the contest up.

I also worked on some crochet today.  I don't know why this picture won't post vertically instead of horizontally, but it's a close up of a cable knit crocheted scarf.  I can't find the instructions I used online now to link to, but here are the instructions from memory.

Chain 20 (I'm using a size I hook)

Foundation Row:  Hdc in 3rd chain from hook.  Hdc in each chain across.  18 HDC's.

Row 1:  Chain 2, Hdc in each chain across

(repeat row 1 for all odd rows)

Row 2:  Chain 2, Hdc in first two half-double crochets.  DC around Hdc post two rows below.  Hdc in next 4 hdc's.  Treble Crochet around 3rd hdc post two rows below.  Treble Crochet around 4th hdc post two rows below.  Treble Crochet around 1st hdc post two rows below.  And Treble Crochet around 2nd hdc post two rows below.  Back on your row, Hdc in next 4 hdc's.  DC around Hdc post two rows below.  Hdc in last two hdc's on the row.

Row 4: Chain 2, Hdc in first two half-double crochets.  DC around dc post below. Hdc in next 3 hdc's. Treble Crochet around the next two Treble Crochets post below.  Hdc in next 2 Hdc's.  Treble Crochet around the two Treble Crochets post below.  Hdc in next 3 hdc's.  DC around dc post below. Hdc in last two half-double crochets.

Row 6:  Chain 2, Hdc in first two half-double crochets.  DC around dc post below. Hdc in next 2 hdc's. Treble Crochet around the next two Treble Crochets post below.  Hdc in next 4 Hdc's.  Treble Crochet around the two Treble Crochets post below.   The Treble Crochets will criss cross.Hdc in next 2 hdc's.  DC around dc post below. Hdc in last two half-double crochets.

Row 8: Repeat Row 4

Row 10:  Chain 2, Hdc in first two half-double crochets.  DC around dc post below.  Hdc in next 4 hdc's.  Treble Crochet around 3rd Treble Crochet post below.  Treble Crochet around 4th Treble Crochet post below.  Treble Crochet around 1st Treble Crochet post below.  And Treble Crochet around 2nd Treble Crochet Below.  Back on your row, Hdc in next 4 hdc's.  DC around dc post below.  Hdc in last two hdc's on the row.

Repeat rows 3-10, 17 more times or until scarf is desired length.

Finishing Row:  Chain 2, Hdc in each chain across.  Then finish off.
